Our first meeting

Many thanks to everyone that turned out for our first meeting last night. There were in excess of 20 visitors and we have almost 30 people already listed. So an excellent start!

There were a number of good suggestions put forward last night:

  • Local routes from the R&C
  • The churches tour in September
  • Ashridge
  • Tagging onto some of the organised runs local to our area.
  • Taking the train and cycling back.

Please keep the ideas coming, as things develop we’ll get a calender together so everyone can keep upto speed. In the short term we’ll keep people informed through email, and Alistair has kindly agreed to keep regular updates on the Rose and Crown newsletter.

And now to our first ride: 25th July 2010, starting at 10.00 from the Rose and Crown. We are proposing two routes, one of around 15miles and the other between 25 and 30 miles. We are treating these as a leisurely rides lasting about 2 hours with a return to the starting point. We have been assurred that all beers and wines available at the pub will be isotonic. I will issue the proposed routes next week.

For those interested in getting out during the week, Dave Howe rides through Ashridge on a Tuesday evening with freinds, so if any would like to join him please contact him.

We look forward to the first big one!

Thanks once again,

Gary, Andrew and Jose
