Saturday 10 am Tea Ride

Here we are on the eve of Il Lombardia, the race of the falling leaves. Everyone is hanging out their leg warmers hoping that they will be filled by father cycling with an explosive race and Sagan’s swan song with Tinkoff. But will there be nothing left to eat on boxing Lombardia but stale energy bars and bitter regret. Only time will tell. Luckily however the race organisers for tomorrow’s tea ride have opted out of 4500m of climbing around lake como and will instead be taking in the scenic lanes of Buckinghamshire.

Favourites for first back at the pub include Castlemead Dave and Diego Ulissi.

Rides for bank holiday Sunday

It may be the last stage of the Giro d’Italia on Sunday but all the action will be Ivinghoe with plenty of rides to suit all tastes…

Dave ‘Chaves’ Howe has designed a rather clever 8am ride that can be either 100km or 100 miles depending on how much time you have – with the split coming in Long Crendon after passing through Thame. Do come and ride but please don’t do a Kruijswijk.

100km route: http://www.mapometer.com/cycling/route_4328262.html

100 miles route: http://www.mapometer.com/cycling/route_4321211.html

The plan is to ride together at a steady 15 mph with a cafe break at Treacles tea room in Thame.

Meanwhile Dave ‘Nibali’ Bembridge has used all his shark-of Messina-like experience to come up with a pair of 10am rides…

16 miles: http://gb.mapometer.com/cycling/route_1451600.html

32 miles: http://gb.mapometer.com/cycling/route_1457724.html

The question is – which Dave will be wearing pink tomorrow?
